Hello, my name is Eric Garcia and this will be my Cook's biography hopefully my biography will give some insight into my aspirations and accomplishments as a Cook so far. As far back as I can remember I have always loved food from different cultures and regions that I had the experience of trying in our very multicultural city of Toronto. Trying all these different kinds of foods made me stick around the kitchen at home to see what my parents would cook next and I would like helping anyway I could because I felt that when I helped cook it would taste so much better knowing I had a part in making the meal. My Great-Grandpa was a baker and would teach me how to make sweet bread so I guess you could say I was always immersed in the culinary field one way or another which made my choice easy in high school when they made us ask ourselves what we wanted to be, I said I want to be a Chef. I love working with people and making people smile so I know that having a career as a Chef will be very fulfilling to me making good quality food for people to savor and come back for more. I am not currently working in the industry as I left my job to focus solely on my education at George Brown but I have about three years of hands on experience in the culinary field as a line cook. Each of my jobs gave me the opportunity to improve on and learn new skills and in working with a team in a kitchen it helped me learn how to handle myself as a cook in a fast paced environment while keeping in pace with your fellow cooks in completing orders in a timely and presentable fashion. My personal philosophy for cooking would be to put passion in everything you do, if you wouldn't eat it yourself or serve it to someone you love then start again. I believe cooking is about staying creative and passionate about cooking for people or yourself and seeing the enjoyment you create at tables full of friends eating your creations! The above photo of the three chefs in the kitchen ideally depicts my philosophy of cooking because I believe in diversity and everyone bringing something to the table, I believe in hard work but most importantly being happy and having a good time while cooking  I believe establishing a reputation for yourself as a Chef not only comes from being a good cook but from being a good person to your co-workers and customers. This is the first time I am introduced to blogging but I hope to gain knowledge and experience through it by reading my fellow students blogs and using their information to add to my own experience as a cook, I like to say that there is only so much you can know yourself sometimes you have to learn from others and what they've experienced. I also hope to familiarize myself with blogging regularly as now in 2017 a lot of blogs with a big influence can make or break a restaurant depending on their comments/critiques, also through regular blogging I hope to gain knowledge on what's in and emerging in the culinary world. A great culinary blog I found through a list of best food blogs was a blog named 101 Cookbooks (http://www.101cookbooks.com/). I particularly like this blog for its presentation, it keeps things simple and not too overwhelming to the eye but offer photos of dishes with beautiful contrast to catch your eye where it's important, what the dish is. Each dish has a quick description and history behind it and a link to its recipe which I like because any average person who wants to try a new recipe can easily jump in choose one from this blog and start cooking it without too much hassle and they have a photo to compare. There isn't much I would say could be improved because in my opinion it has all the core fundamentals of a great culinary blog. I hope to emulate this type of blog once my skills in blogging advance throughout the course.

King's Noodle Restaurant on Spadina & Dundas is one of my favourite restaurants in Toronto and I definitely recommend it for some of the best Chinese food
